Here's a comment I received the other day in the Earn1Kaday private forum the other day regarding niche marketing.

"For newbies like me, it's difficult to understand where the sweet spot is in a niche between not enough and too much.

If there's one thing I've learned about Internet Marketing, it's that it is all in the niche.

Everything you want to know about making money, building sites, getting traffic, is all available to be purchased and read but niche marketing strategies seem to be a big secret (and understandably so).

My response is:

That's because there isn't as clear cut a step by step system for niche research as there is for other steps in the process such as SEO, article writing, site building, etc.

With niche selection and research there is a bit of art and creativity involved. Obviously the first thing you need is a list of potential niches.

Some people can be told this and sit down and brainstorm and make a list of 50 different topics in a few minutes.

For other people this is a brick wall and they can't come up with two topics.

I think five of the easiest ways to get a list of ideas are the following: Read more

If you want to make money blogging there are a few things you need to know.

First, making money blogging is not as simple as a lot of people want you to believe.

Don't believe all the hype of sales letters and blog posts that you see. There is work involved.

You can't just throw up a blog, make a few posts and expect the cash to roll in.

However, if you are prepared to put together a solid game plan and put in the necessary work, blogging can be a fantastic and easy way to make money working from home.

But you need to realize that you need a plan, just like with any other business.

If you were going to spend $350,000 to open a retail store, I doubt you'd just rent a building, purchase a bunch of random stuff, toss it into your store and open for business, expecting people (traffic) to stampede to what you have to offer (your blog's content), and whip out their credit cards for your products (your offers on your site, whether it's adsense or affiliate links).

So if you still want to make money blogging, here are eight steps you can take to start generating traffic and pulling in profits.

1. Select A Niche

There's been a lot written about how to select a niche. My favorite ways to find a niche are actually offline and you can read more about that in my article, How To Find Profitable Niches Offline

To confirm that the niche will be viable online (people are searching for the topic and you can generate traffic), you'll need to do some keyword research as well.

Wordtracker's Free Keyword Research Tool goes a long way in helping you determine if your niche is being searched for online.

2. Create Your Blog Read more

I'm evaluating a multi-media course on blogging from the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they're letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.

It covers:

  • The best blogging techniques.
  • How to get traffic to your blog.
  • How to turn your blog into money.

I'll let you know what I think once I've had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it's still free.

The best article marketing strategy is one that helps not just with short term income but with long term success.

This means using an article marketing strategy that is a part of your overall internet marketing plan to build a successful virtual real estate empire.

I know I haven't been posting as often lately but with good reason.

I just finished up my very first pay product in the internet marketing niche.

Here's what Dennis (the 5 Bucks A Day guy and owner of Earn 1 K a Day) wrote up for his subscribers.

"The #1 deal of the week comes from Gregg Gillies.

Gregg had posted a thread about 6 weeks ago about how he had built a successful business with primarily article marketing to drive traffic to a site, that thread was so well received that Ian Sneddon asked him to do an interview about his methods.

Gregg asked myself and a few others to review the audio, and I was blown away by it. The other reviewers were also.

Since then he's added a PDF to the audio, and is packaging the audio and report at an unbelievable price.

If you start now and follow Gregg's blueprint, you could easily have some success before the end of the year, with very little time invested, and no worries about the Google Slap or any of that nonsense.

Starting an affiliate marketing business may be the easiest way to start a business online.

With internet affiliate marketing you don't have to have or create your own products, you don't need to deal with shipping products, customer service, credit card processing, refund requests, or any other headaches or problems associated with selling your own goods or services.

All you really need to do with an affiliate marketing business is select a quality affiliate program, drive traffic to that program, and collect your profits.

Of course, it's not that easy. But it is that simple.

Just remember, affiliate marketing is a business and you need to treat it that way.

You need to learn affiliate marketing the same way you'd learn any other business that you started.

At least, you do if you want to truly be successful with your affiliate marketing business.

Affiliate marketing can be extremely rewarding and profitable if you do it right.

If you've been researching affiliate marketing for any length of time, you've probably seen a lot of techniques or tactics such as using Google Adwords to drive traffic to affiliate programs.

Or writing lots of articles and submitting them to directories with affiliate links in your author resource box.

Personally, I don't recommend you try and run this type of affiliate marketing business. The main reason being, you don't have a business!

You're just a traffic broker for the company that has the products. Read more

Finding a niche seems to be one of the biggest obstacles I've seen with my coaching clients when it comes to building an online business.

They don't know where to start or how to find a niche.

It's really not that difficult but many people have a mental block the same with they do when it comes to writing.

If you're struggling to come up with niche ideas, sitting in front of Google or Wordtracker and not being able to come up with any keywords as a starting point, then get away from the computer.

You're probably much better off taking your niche research offline. Think about it. Read more

Apparently, a lot of people would like to work from home.

According to a recent Yahoo/Harris survey, a whopping 70% of Americans said they have thought about starting their own business.

In addition, millions each year start home based businesses.

People thinking about starting their own business listed the following as the main reasons for doing so:

  • For a passionate hobby/doing work I love 35%
  • To be my own boss 20%
  • To make more money 16%
  • To create something people need 11%
  • For the challenge 11%
  • To get rich/nearly rich 3%
  • Other 4%

These are all great reasons. Interestingly, I think they can all be placed under one banner. Read more
